Health Coverage
Cape Fear Public Utility Authority recognizes employees have different needs when it comes to healthcare. Therefore, we offer a choice of two medical plans with varying options for health and prescription services. Our plans are offered by the State Health Plan of North Carolina. The State Health Plan is self-funded with claims administration through Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Full-time employees who work a minimum of 30 hours are eligible for coverage. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following your start date and may include employee, spouse, and dependents up to age 26.
Spouses eligible for insurance coverage on another employer health insurance plan will not be eligible for coverage on CFPUA’s health plans.
