Conservation & Water Emergency Management

Managing our water resources wisely, especially in times of emergency, is a vital component of overall resources planning. A common public perception is that water emergency management means restricting or curtailing customer use as a temporary response to drought. While this can be a useful short-term solution, long-term improvements in water use efficiency help maintain a sufficient supply and quality of life standards.

The Cape Fear region will continue its population growth, and with that growth comes more service connections and more demand on both the water supply and waste water systems. The source of the water supply, however, remains the same. Proper management of our water resources helps to regulate the amount of water being produced and distributed, as well as to reduce the amount of water used for non-essential purposes.
