The securing of goods and services is basic to government operations. Under the supervision of the Finance Director, this function of local government is the primary responsibility of the Purchasing Department.
It is the role of Purchasing to:
Establish and administer purchasing procedures in keeping with the purchasing laws and policy established by competent authority
Handle all purchasing requirements for the Authority
Review and/or establish the specifications, quantity, quality, and type of materials and services which are recommended
Purchases are awarded to the vendor offering the best value to the CFPUA for the item being requested.
Purchasing takes into consideration the price, quality, time for performance, vendor performance, and other items which may be of importance.
