Board Committees

CFPUA Standing Committees
Committee meetings are posted and are open meetings. Committee appointments are made by the Executive Committee, which consists of the corporate officers. The Authority strives to have a balance of City and County appointees and a balance of Board member talent on each Committee.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month following the Finance Committee. Members conduct the monthly agenda review and approve the agenda, consider items brought by the Executive Director or attorney, and receive audits from the Internal Auditor.  Pat Kusek chairs the Committee. Executive Committee members are:

  • Authority Chairman
  • Vice-Chairman
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer of the Authority
The Executive Director is a non-voting member of the Executive Committee.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee meets at 9 a.m. on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Committee members review items brought by the Chief Financial Officer or Executive and make recommendations to full Authority.  The Committee receives the annual audit prior to its review by the full Authority.  Mike Brown chairs the Finance Committee.

Long-Range Planning Committee
The Long-Range Planning Committee meets at 3 p.m. on the 4th Thursday of each month.  In the months of November and December, the schedule is adjusted for holidays.  Committee members review projects and other items presented by the Executive Director, Engineering and Operations staff, or attorney, and make recommendations to the full Authority.  Larry Sneeden chairs the Long Range Planning Committee.

Human Resources Committee
The HR Committee meets as needed to address HR policies or other issues brought forward by the Executive Director and HR Director.  Jim Brumit chairs the Human Resources Committee.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee meets quarterly and receives updates from the Executive Director and Chief Communications Officer.  Mike Brown chairs the Communications Committee. 

The Nominating Committee meets annually to recommend a slate of officers for each fiscal year. The Nominating Committee consists of the Chair, a County Commissioner, and a City Councilmember.  

Other Committees may be created by the Board as needed.  


  • Landlord-Tenant Committee: Met from 2009 - 2011 to address ordinances applicable to rental properties and make recommendations to the full Board.
